  THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
KKL-JNF World Chairman
 December 9, 2019
Dear Readers,
The history of the Jewish people is marked by milestones, leaders and key figures that have paved the way for all of us and enabled the reality in which we live today. In tandem, the institutions that are part of this heritage serve as a historical testament of the long journey behind us and the journey which, as the Jewish people, we continue today.
One of the hallmarks, if not the embodiment, of the history of Zionism and the Jewish people in the Land of Israel is the National Institutions Building in Jerusalem, which is home to the administrative bodies that work to preserve Zionism and the country's future as a Jewish state in the Land of Israel: the Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Hayesod, and the Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael- Jewish National Fund..
The KKL-JNF, together with its partners on this journey, has been active since the turn of the 20th century. It continues to address the challenges facing the Jewish people and the State of Israel, beginning with the inception of the Zionist idea, through the redemption of land and it settlement, to meeting the changing national needs.
Among the tasks facing the Zionist institutions today is the fight against growing anti-Semitism in Europe and the spread of assimilation. Recent times have not been simple for Jews living in the Diaspora in the face of resurgent anti-Semitism rearing its head in the guise of anti-Zionism. The personal safety of Jews has been undermined worldwide, and this is a major strategic threat that affects the existence of the State of Israel itself. It is incumbent upon us to eradicate anti-Semitism wherever we find it; to rally round the flag and mobilize other countries to join the struggle. The relationship between Diaspora Jewry and the State of Israel is reciprocal and our strength as Jews, wherever they are, is in our unity.
