Assembly was held to discuss the deteriorating situation in Palestine.

Arabs announced that they would annihilate this state immediately.
At 3:15pm Israel time, it was a cold morning in New York. The Jewish
Agency delegation to the UN General Assembly included a tall young
man – Aubrey (Abba) Eban, later to become Israel's Foreign Minister.
A year after its establishment, Israel was accepted as a UN member state. At
